Beaded sweater & FUN FASHION FRIDAY LINK UP!

When I came out in this sweater, the hubby said, "Where in the world do you even buy something like that?!" LOL.  I love his funny reactions to my fashion sense.  And I'm going to take it as a compliment whether or not he meant it as one!

So where do you buy a crazy fabulous sweater with ribbon and bead trim?  The thrift store!  

I had planned to pair the sweater with some flared jeans and clogs for a totally 70's look, but the proportions just didn't work. I went with skinnies and flats and was pleased with the results. What do you think?

The very best part of the sweater?  It makes a charming little clink & tinkle when I walk! I wanted to do the twist all day! Hey, did I ever mention fashion can be fun?!

New Elle Serbia just arrived and here is my first look created for February issue.
I wore this dress as a top and belted cardigan, layered in a printed blanket scarf. I completed the outfit with a cute cross body bag and simple boots.

Summer to Winter Dress (& Friday link up reminder)

Lately I've seen several bloggers wearing spring/summer dresses as winter garb and looking quite adorable!  So I felt inspired to try the trick myself.  Here's my pretty eShakti birdcage dress styled last summer on the left and for winter on the right.

I have to admit that I was a little skeptical at first. but I really like the way my outfit turned out.  I added a turtleneck with boots and tights for warmth. I think it's a good look for teaching ... comfy and modest.  And I even noticed that eShakti still has this dress and it's on sale.  

(Actually lots of great sales right now at eShakti!)

If you're excited to shop for spring but are still having winter weather, this would be a fun way to rationalize a new dress ... style it for winter now and spring later! 

(You can always count on me for an excuse to shop!)

Do I remind you of a half asleep koala on the first photo? Or I'm just going crazy because of that 24/7 moments shared with my laptop?!
Anyway, I'm wearing skinny jeans, high heels and camel coat. Yes again, but this time I made a turtle neck of it's collar and I love the effect!

    C'est au défilé de Walter von Beirendonck (qui est une de ses amis) que j'ai croisé
    Christian, l'ancien responsable des partenariats pour les "Golden Blogs Awards". C'est 
    sa veste, bien sûr, qui a d'abord attiré mon attention en premier. C'est une "Filson" 
    (une marque de Seattle). Ses chaussures sont des "Trickers" de chez Royal Cheese. 
    Son jeans "Levis" est coupé selon un modèle original de 1929. Pull par "Ralph lauren" 
    et Casquette par "Stetson". Ses lunettes noires sont de marque japonaise (Lotho),
    façonnées à la main. Sa besace est une fabrication française de la marque "Bleu de 
     Chauffe". Dans la vie, le rêve de Christian serait de refaire le tour du monde sans
    jamais s'arrêter et son pire cauchemar serait de voir sa vie se terminer.

Firmoo Review

One of things I've been meaning to do (how long is THAT list?!) is get some new prescription glasses. I've had the same old pair forever and because I wear contacts (with a side of readers) more often than not, I just haven't gotten around to getting new ones.  But then FIRMOO made it soooo easy! They have fun and classic styles.  And all you do is order from home and your pretty new glasses show up on your doorstep. 

I took a fashion risk with these blue and tortoise frames and I love them!  

What do you think, Dolls?

Not only are the glasses wonderful and convenient, but Firmoo also sends along a nice case, a pouch, a cleaning cloth, and even a cute little screwdriver for eyeglass CPR!  Great customer care for a very (VERY!) reasonable price.

And who doesn't need a spare pair of glasses?

Cosy weekend & why I took a step back

I'm back in Louisiana and shooting the 2nd series of Salem. After a long week of shooting in a corset I love my cosy weekends spent in snuggly hats and sweatshirts stolen from my husband. I tried (and failed) to resist these leopard Isabel Marant sneakers but the leopard lover that I am was like a moth to a flame. 

I know that my updates have been few and far between over this past year and I wanted to talk about why that was....

Ring My Bell was born out of a genuine love of fashion and in particular street style and whilst these are still huge passions of mine, my first love and real job has always been acting. After leaving 'Revenge' I was hungry for another project and to play a different character. 'Salem' was just what I was looking for and I put nearly all of my focus and energy into that. We shoot 'Salem' on location in Louisiana (away from my closet!) and our shooting schedule doesn't always allow me the time to update Ring My Bell as much as I might like.

Then there was the influx of other actresses who in the last year or so have also started fashion blogs. It had me questioning if I wanted to be lumped into that over saturated category and if my blog added anything different or if blogs were even relevant any more? I still don't have the answers but...

Ultimately I still really enjoy sharing my personal style with you and I'm so grateful that you all take the time to visit this site and leave me comments. Ring My Bell is here to stay and I'll keep updating as often as my filming schedule and access to my closet allows. Thank you for sticking around!
