Quickie Adam Lippes for Target Review
So, normally I'm waiting outside Target at 8AM on the Sunday of designer collaborations, but for the latest one I was a day late. My hardworking husband only had Sunday off this week, so I made spending time with him my top priority. (What a good wife, right? Honey, are you reading this?)
So on Monday afternoon after a day of teaching, I dashed to Target. The one closest to my work had nothing, but the one near my home did.
Here's the good, bad, and the ugly of the Adam Lippes designer collaboration ... including terrible dressing room selfies of a very tired teacher!
Do you have great legs and a bigger middle section? This dress is for you! (But not really for pear-shaped me.)
The heels are adorable though, right?
Hint for ordering online ... everything runs huge! The tops shown above and below are XS! Right ... hello? I know they're supposed to be oversized, but wow. (Normally I wear a 4 or 6.)
My other complaint about the collection is that so much of it looks so spring/summer to me.
(In this pic, I'm trying to bunch up the dress to see how it would look with a belt.)
There were some pieces that looked like a fall/winter collection.
This coat is an XS. Need I say more? (I think the look on my face says it all!)
Now to my favorites ...
Super cute fringy poncho ...
And of course it's horrible over the dress I was wearing today, but I really liked this cowl neck vest.
The only thing I actually bought was this sweater vest.
I'll wear it tomorrow and sneak in a pic for you guys!
Edited to add:
…
By the way, the collection includes plus sizes and home decor!
The quality was about what you would expect from the price point ... it neither impressed nor disappointed me.
So did you make it to this collaboration? What did you think? What did you buy?

Phyllis Sues
I had the privilege of visiting 92-year-old dancer, yogi, designer, and writer, Phyllis Sues, at her L.A. home last week. Phyllis is one of the most vital and energetic people that I have ever met. She is constantly challenging herself to try new things, like trapeze at 80 and skydiving on at 90! Her next goal is to become anactress and write a memoir on her life. Phyllis inspires us all to keep moving, dreaming, and working hard to achieve our goals. For more on this incredibly inspiring woman check out her website HERE.

Jade - Rue Saint-Martin - Paris
Jade - Rue Saint-Martin - Paris
J'ai rencontré la charmante Jade pendant la Fashion Week, avant le défilé de Jean-Paul
Gaultier. Jade est maquilleuse professionnelle. Elle porte un T-Shirt de la marque
Rock the Street (distribué par le magasin de la rue Tiquetonne), dont le slogan est "We
Don'gt Give a F#ck". Ses lunettes sont des "Police" et son short en denim self-customisé.
Ses chaussures montantes sont par je ne sais pas (une marque que j'affectionne et que
je rencontre souvent quand j'oublie de noter !).

Over the knee
Shorts: Vintage Levis. Top: Topshop. Bag: Celine.
Boots: Saint Laurent.
I've been dying to wear these boots! It's still not quite cold enough here in LA but I wore them anyway. Over the knee boots can sometimes feel a little too sexy for everyday wear but the round toe and chunky mid heel on these helps to lessen that effect. More chunky heeled over the knee boots below!
Casual Fall Essentials
Are you feeling ready for cooler weather? I can't wait to to wear a chunky sweater with some flared jeans and cute suede booties. And for accents, you can't go wrong this fall adding in plaid, fringe and tassels!
Here's one outfit idea, with shopping links below!
Sweaters and boots always top my list of fall favorites. What can't you wait to wear this season?
I'll leave you with some other fab fall options ...
Advanced Style Stories
When I am walking around photo hunting I get to hear so many fabulous stories. Today I started a SoundCloud account so that I can share some these moments with everyone.
Audrey had heard a radio program about people of significance who had died in the previous year, and 95% of them were in there 80s. As she approached her 80th birthday she decided to take each one of her grandchildren on an adventure. Check out her story below and more on her website HERE.

Lately, I just can’t get enough of embroidered tops ( here / here / here ) . Obsession or not, but I needed to try a waistcoat version too and make the transition of '70s into fall. I also added a bit of edge by pairing the vest with distressed denim shorts and track sole heels and that's how I ended up wearing this. ;)

Charlie a Go-Go Giveaway!
I recently learned about a cool new company that I wanted to share with my readers. Charlie a Go-Go was started by two middle-aged women who were struggling to find fun and flattering clothes to suit their changing shapes. Can't we all relate? They created Charlie a Go-Go, a brand dedicated to bringing chic wearable pieces to women sizes 12-18. Read more about these lovely ladies here.
As a gift for my readers, Charlie a Go-Go is running a giveaway of their pretty Joni top!
Isn't it cute and flattering? (Shown here in Orchid, it also comes in Charcoal and French Vanilla.)
Check out their website to see their other selections, as well as fun styling ideas.
The giveaway will run through Friday, September 25th, so enter now! (Open to U.S. residents only.)
